The Calf Stretch focuses on the back of the lower leg. There are many different ways to stretch the calf muscle, the example below is absolutely fine for beginners and people who don't have a lot of flexibility.

Body Part and Muscle Group
The following muscles are stretched during the Calf Stretch: Gastrocnemius and Soleus.

Instructions
Starting from a normal standing position.
Take a step forward, keeping your front leg flexed and your back leg straight (keep your knee slightly off lock).
Both feet should be pointing forwards and the knee of your front leg should be directly above your ankle.
Progression: To increase the stretch start with a wider stance.
Alternative: The Soleus Stretch.
Calf Stretch
The Calf Stretch is often done with little effort, people will lean against a wall and look like they're stretching - obviously this is no good! Stretching your lower leg is very important as is stretching all your muscles. Just because the stretch is easy to perform that is not a reason to take it easy when stretching your calf.
