Seated Deltoid Stretch - Preparatory Stretching

The seated deltoid stretch focuses on the shoulders and stretches the deltoid and tricep muscles. The Seated Deltoid Stretch can be performed as a maintenance stretch and should be held for 10 to 15 seconds.

Instructions

Starting from a seated position.

Bring your arm horizontally across your body.

Keep a little bit of flex in the elbow.

With your other arm, place your hand on the back of the upper arm and pull the arm across the body.

Progression: Apply more pressure to stretched arm.
