Seated Lat Stretch - Preparatory Stretching

The seated lat stretch focuses on the upper back and stretches the latissimus dorsi and teres major muscles. The Seated Lat Stretch can be performed as a maintenance stretch and should be held for 10 to 15 seconds.

Instructions

Starting from a seated position.

Place one hand inside the other with your palms facing the body.

Reach upwards and bring your arms together.

Slowly straighten your arms directly above your head without locking the elbows.

Progression: Push the arms further above yourself.
