Lat Stretch - Preparatory Stretching
The lat stretch focuses on the upper back and stretches the Latissimus dorsi and teres major muscles. The Lat Stretch can be performed as a preparatory stretch and held for 8 to 10 seconds.

The Lat Stretch focuses on the upper back. The Latissimus Dorsi and Teres Major muscles are stretched.

Instructions
Starting from a normal standing position.
Place one hand inside the other with your palms facing the body.
Reach upwards and bring your arms together.
Slowly straighten your arms directly above your head without locking the elbows.
Progression: Push the arms further above yourself.
Alternative: Stretch with one arm at a time.
