Using Resistance Machines to improve muscular strength is often the safer way to exercise. Exercising to increase muscular strength is achieved by using heavy weights and doing a lower level of reps and sets. When performing muscular strength exercises with Free Weights it’s important to lift within yourself or make sure you have a spotter.

Resistance Machines can also provide a great variety of muscular endurance exercises. Resistance Machines will work a variety of different muscles and allow you to adjust the equipment to suit your exercise. If you’re using Free Weights for Muscular Endurance you will have a greater range of movement than Resistance Machines. As the Free Weights have a variety of sizes starting from very light to very heavy you should be able find the right balance.

If you’re exercising to increase muscle strength you need to know and understand what muscle group you are targeting and how to exercise them effectively. Performing muscular strength exercises will usually result in increasing the muscle size and increasing the strength of the connective tissues.

Muscular endurance is crucial to the performance of activities such as distance running, swimming, cycling or rowing. Muscular endurance is defined as the ability of the muscle to repeat the repetition against a resistance for a prolonged period of time.
